Family History
The Wilson's have been on the Miramichi River in New Brunswick since the 1790s and in the fishing business for over 150 years. Thomas Wilson (pictured to the left) was the one who started bringing "sports" to the Miramichi in 1855 and also had the foresight of moving the Wilson homestead from the flood plane on south bank of the Miramichi at the Priceville footbridge to higher ground in McNamee.  His son, John Wilson, continued the family business into the late nineteenth century and passed it to Willard Wilson who grew Wilson's Camps into one of the most successful fishing lodges on the Atlantic seaboard. Upon his passing Willard’s son Murray took the reigns of the family business which eventually passed to his son Karl and eventually to Willard's great-grandson Keith Wilson. Keith and Bonnie relocated Wilson's Camps in 2004 to a new location upriver from the Wilson homestead where it sits today overlooking the Miramichi River. As many anglers know, a fly fishing resume is not complete until you have caught a salmon at Wilson’s on the Miramichi!
WILSON'S Fly Shop
Our shop was opened by Jim Wilson in 1998 after he could not find a fly shop in Toronto with the right mix of selection, service & friendly advice - and these three basic ingredients have become the hallmarks of our business. Over the last 10 years we have moved into two progressively larger locations and learned much along the way. The most important thing we have learned is that if we continue to focus on offering the 3 basic ingredients we were looking for in a fly shop when we got into the sport our shop will do well. It's about offering good product at a competitive price, being helpful and having fun!
Our Locations
WILSON'S has 2 locations in Ontario:
WILSON'S Toronto is located on the south side of Queen Street at 199 Queen Street East, just east of Jarvis Street in downtown Toronto.  We are a 15 minute walk from Union Station and a 5 minute walk from the Eaton Centre and the Queen Subway stop.  The eastbound Queen streetcar stops near our store and we have plenty of parking at our front door. Please note parking time restrictions.
WILSON'S Caledon is location on the banks of the Credit River at 1587 Forks of the Credit Road in Caledon.  Open weekends from May through October, WILSON'S Caledon is a traditional destination fly shop that offers an inventory aimed at anglers frequenting the river and provides a convenient base for our on-stream instruction courses.

Our Philosophy
We want to be your fly fishing store of choice.  To achieve our goal we commit to providing the 3 ingredients our owner wanted to find in a fly shop when he first got into the sport: great selection, excellent service and friendly advice.  In addition, we commit to having the best pricing policy in Canada which is this: if you find the same product in another fly shop at a lesser regular landed price, we will beat that price by an additional 10% of the difference.  We want to earn the right to be your fly shop of choice- and appreciate the opportunity to do so.
