Bella Vista Lodge is located on the banks of the Rio Gallegos in the Patagonia region of Argentina just North of the Strait of Magellan. Bella Vista was the first lodge to open in the area and it remains one of the most exclusive lodges on the Rio Gallegos. The lodge owns nearly 50 kms of double bank private access fishing which is limited to a maximum of eight rods per week. Guided by one of a team of experienced guides, each pair of rods will have only the river and its fish for company.

This river is known for its huge runs of giant sea-run trout and it is a destination for some of the finest brown trout dry fly fishing in South America. The Gallegos River is a much bigger system than its sister river, the Rio Grande, and its pools are far more varied in their character. Slow holding pools are interspersed with fast riffles and boulder-strewn runs that challenge even the most ardent and experienced fly anglers.
